Bell of Time
This old bell has been telling people of Edo of time since 1666. During the Edo Period, there were nine such bells around Edo. The bell of Ueno, along with the one in Asakusa, was particularly loved that it once appeared in a short poem by Basho Matsuo. To this day, the bell rings the sound of Edo precisely at 6 AM, at noon, and at 6 PM.
